As the year draws to a close and we look forward to the festive period, I would like to wish a very merry Christmas and happy New Year to you, your families, friends and loved ones. 2022 has been an extremely busy year for everyone across the emergency services family working to make North Wales as safe and secure as possible for all residents. Looking forward to 2023, I will also be working as hard as ever to ensure my Police and Crime Plan remains at the heart of policing, and that its core pledges of delivering safer neighbourhoods, supporting victims and communities, and a fair and effective criminal justice system are achieved for the benefit of the people of the area.

Christmas and New Year is always a demanding period for policing, with festivities in full swing and people enjoying themselves. It is the duty of our officers and staff to keep our residents and visitors from harm. I know that this can often come at a price for police officers, police staff and their families, working shifts when others might be at home enjoying the festive season. But as Police and Crime Commissioner, I am sure I can speak for all residents and visitors to North Wales when I say that we are very grateful to each and every one of them for all the hard work that they do to ensure the safety and security of people across the region.

Season’s greetings,
Andy Dunbobbin,
North Wales Police & Crime Commissioner
