On Thursday 5 January, North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Andy Dunbobbin met Councillor Gwennol Ellis, who represents Uwchaled Ward on Conwy County Borough Council, to discuss road safety issues in Glasfryn, Cerrigydrudion and the campaign by local residents to reduce the speed limit on the A5 through the village. The PCC and Cllr Ellis walked the stretch of the road through the village from the Old Post Office Bus Stop to the former Ty’n y Felin School to understand the problems with speeding affecting residents.

As the sales start, and many people take advantage of special offers and deals online, North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Andy Dunbobbin and the Economic Crime Unit at North Wales Police have joined forces to call on the public to make a New Year’s resolution to protect themselves from internet-based fraud by following a few simple tips.

North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Andy Dunbobbin joined officers from North Wales Police’s Roads Policing Unit (RPU) as part of their Christmas anti-drink and drug driving campaign on the evening of 21 December.

The appointment of Alan Jones, Independent Domestic Violence Advisor [IDVA] and Arron Roberts, Children and Young People’s Worker over the past 18 months have been a welcome addition to the team at Gorwel, a service, run by Grwp Cynefin, which operates in Gwynedd and Anglesey providing help and support to people suffering domestic abuse.

Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for North Wales, Andy Dunbobbin, visited the headquarters of Y Bont in Penygroes, on 8 December to see how funding from his Innovate to Grow initiative is helping to support women and their families affected by imprisonment in North Wales.

The Your Community, Your Choice initiative celebrates a decade of funding projects in 2023 and to celebrate this milestone, the funding available to apply for has doubled to £120,000. 

On the evening of Friday, November 25, North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Andy Dunbobbin and Wrexham County Borough Council Lead Member for Community Safety and Partnerships, Cllr Paul Roberts, met local people who are helping to keep residents and visitors to Wrexham safe during the festive party season. The date of the visit was also important as it was White Ribbon Day, the international campaign day which aims to end men’s violence against women and girls.

With the festive season just around the corner officers across Wales are reminding people who are looking forward to a night out not to get behind the wheel after drinking or consuming drugs.

North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, Andy Dunbobbin, is asking the people of North Wales to make their voice heard on how much money they are prepared to pay for policing as part of a public consultation and survey.
