The OPCC North Wales is now recruiting individuals across the region to join as volunteer Independent Custody Visitors. These are members of the public who conduct regular visits to people held in police custody, ensuring their welfare and needs are met.

Due to exceptional demand, and to ensure as many football teams as possible are able to make use of the funding, the application deadline for North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Andy Dunbobbin’s Summer Soccer Fund is moving to August 4.

On 20 July, North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Andy Dunbobbin visited Wrexham to see how funding from the Your Community, Your Choice initiative is helping to promote the city to the public, reduce anti-social behaviour, and give young people new social media skills.

At a recent visit to a refuge in the Conwy county area, Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Andy Dunbobbin learnt about the specialist support available to victims of domestic abuse from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community in North Wales.

With the summer break approaching, clubs and youth organisations across North Wales are being encouraged to apply for funding to run activities from the Police and Crime Commissioner Andy Dunbobbin’s special Summer Soccer Fund, which kicks off today (17.07.23) in partnership with the Football Association of Wales (FAW).

On Monday 10th July, the story of Ruthin teenager Olivia Alkir was shared at Portcullis House in Westminster with the aim of making our country’s roads safer for young people.

On Sunday July 9, North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner visited Anglesey to meet Amlwch Showstoppers, an amateur drama group working to bring young talent in the town together. Amlwch Showstoppers were one of the winners of funding from the Your Community, Your Choice funding initiative.

At an event in Wrexham AFC’s Racecourse ground, North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Andy Dunbobbin recently presented John Widdowson and the club’s Community Trust with a Safer Community Award for the work they have been doing to reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the city.

On Friday, June 30 North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Andy Dunbobbin visited Rhyl to hear more about how local officers in the town are working to reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB) and other forms of crime in the town.

On Saturday 1 July, PCC Andy Dunbobbin visited Conwy District Scouts at their Rowen camp to learn more about the group and their activities and how funding allocated from the PCC’s Your Community, Your Choice initiative is going towards their camp maintenance project.
